Newborn Care
Gentle, expert care for newborns — because the care a baby gets in the womb must continue after birth.
The First Days Matter Most
Specialized Care for Your Newborn
A newborn needs the same careful attention after birth that it received in the womb. Shaurya Hospital provides dedicated newborn care — with ultra-modern indoor facilities — for the conditions most common in the first weeks of life.
From physiological jaundice to premature and low birth weight babies, our pediatric team monitors and treats each baby with safe, effective, side-effect-free care.

Understanding Jaundice
Neonatal Jaundice
The commonest physical finding in newborns during the first week of life — and in most babies, no treatment is required.
How It Appears
The yellow colour is seen first on the face, then progresses downwards over the body.
Treatment Depends On
The baby's age and weight, the bilirubin level, and associated factors such as infection or prematurity.
Most Need No Treatment
Around 60% of newborns develop physiological jaundice, which is usually self-limiting.
Jaundice Treatment
Phototherapy for Newborn Jaundice
When treatment is needed, phototherapy is our primary, proven treatment — very safe and effective, with care taken at every step.
Exchange Transfusion
Rarely required nowadays, thanks to effective phototherapy.
